RD/Test in Central Astor
Astor company started its R & D activities in 2006 and its first project supported by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) was in 2009, since then R & D activities continue in a systematic manner. As a result, ASTOR received the R & D center certificate in 2016. As part of its “R & D Centered Growth” strategy, ASTOR has made great progress by placing R & D to the center of all its activities.
In this context;
TUBITAK supported 17 projects successfully completed.
12 projects successfully completed within the scope of R & D Center.
Within the scope of R & D Center, Astor company continues its activities with 10 ongoing R & D projects. One of the ongoing TUBITAK project is still waiting to be approved by 3 referees.
Astor company has successfully completed 1501, 1505 and 1601 programs within the scope of TUBITAK and aimed to diversify its activities in other support programs.
Prototype of products are manufactured as a result of R & D studies, drawing, analysis and original calculation programs.
ASTOR, which has a total of 66 personnel with 47 R & D Researchers, 13 R & D Technicians and 6 R & D Support Personnel within the scope of R & D center, aims to strengthen its competent personnel infrastructure especially by encouraging graduate and postgraduate studies.
Aware of the importance of developments in the field of basic sciences, the R & D center studies are continued by encouraging the graduates of chemistry department to continue their postgraduate education.
Astor company, which follows technological developments with important international memberships such as CIGRE, improves its knowledge by participating in publications, presentations and symposiums.
R & D center personnel are encouraged by making important studies on patent and utility model applications and protection of intellectual property rights.
ASTOR R & D Center continues to work with essential universities and faculty members of Turkish within the framework of university-industry cooperation.
Within the scope of ASO 54th Anniversary Awards “2017 R & D Center” award was given by the President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. ASTOR, increased its R & D center goals for 2018.

By sharing and applying the complaint management process which was created for the feedback from Astor customers, we achieve great success in rapid solution of the problems and the customers are informed about the activities step by step.
Test Laboratories in Central Astor
Central Astor is located in Ankara. In Astor test laboratory, all tests required according to IEC, IEEE standards, domestic and foreign customer specifications can be applied. Except for mechanical resistance test to short circuits for oil type distribution transformers, dry type distribution transformers and power transformers all test are available.
HVL1 and HVL-2 testing laboratories in Europe with Astor joint 2200 m² test area and 1000MV to 800kv capacity and is Turkey’s largest testing laboratories.
In addition to HVL-1 and HVL-2 laboratories, there are OG-1, OG-2, OG-3, OG-4 laboratories for transformer tests.
In Astor laboratory there is a Chemistry laboratory for the tests and gas analysis of transformer isolation oils, and the MV Switching products laboratory for the prefabricated transformer center equipment.
HVL-1 AND HVL-2 LABORATORIES
HVL-1 AND HVL-2 LABORATORIES
Both laboratories can be tested separately with 500MVA 400kV test measurement capacity and at the same time they can work in parallel and reach 1000MVA 800kV capacity.
During the test activity, the test area was completely covered with the faraday cage to prevent the sample from being affected by electromagnetic waves, noise and environmental conditions.
The locations of the test area are covered with epoxy resin to provide insulation, high resistance to chemicals, abrasion, corrosion, resistant to dirt, easy cleaning, and easy movement of the cushion that brings the test specimens.
MV-1 LABORATORY
MV-1 LABORATORY
The 154 kV 100MVA test measuring capacity MV-1 laboratory is the area where medium power transformer tests are performed.
MV-2 LABORATORY
MV-2 LABORATORY
The 33kV 5MVA test measuring capacity MV-2 laboratory is the area where dry type transformer tests are performed.
During the test activity, the test area was completely covered with the faraday cage to prevent the sample from being affected by electromagnetic waves, noise and environmental conditions.
The locations of the test area are covered with epoxy resin to provide insulation, high resistance to chemicals, abrasion, corrosion, resistant to dirt, easy cleaning, and easy movement of the cushion that brings the test specimens.ر
MV-3 LABORATORY
MV-3 LABORATORY
MV-3 laboratory with 33kV 5MVA measurement capacity is the area where distribution transformer tests are performed.
The locations of the test area are covered with epoxy resin to provide insulation, high resistance to chemicals, abrasion, corrosion, resistant to dirt, easy cleaning, and easy movement of the cushion that brings the test specimens.
MV-4 LABORATORY
MV-4 LABORATORY WILL BE COMPLETED IN SHORT TIME.
Chemistry Lab
Chemistry Lab
In our Chemistry Laboratory, which is accredited according to ISO / IEC 17025 standards, tests of insulating oils and dissolved gas analysis are performed according to international and national standards or specifications (IEC, IEEE, ASTM, TSE, TEİAŞ, TEDAŞ).
Samples are taken by authorized personnel according to the sampling procedure. The test process is carried out by our expert and qualified personnel without being affected by sample contamination and environmental conditions.
